November 16 Workshop

November 16 Workshop

Over 250 City residents and community members attended the citywide public workshop on Tuesday, November 16th at the Community and Senior Center at 1140 Oakcrest Park Drive.

The opening presentation provided an introduction to General Plan Update process; an overview of existing conditions and input received during the first round of workshops; and direction on how to complete the community character preference survey and workbook.

This workshop was designed to get feedback on key issues that the Consultant Team and the City heard through the visioning process and at previous workshops. While the majority of the City will not experience significant change in the immediate future, previous workshop patricipants identified some potential areas that should be considered. In the areas where there might be change or revisioning, some key issues presented were related to physical improvements and/or land use policies. These areas, which consist of about five percent of the City, may experience change, growth, and improvement in the coming decades.

After the presentation and community character preference slideshow, workshop attendees visited work stations and had an opportunity to examine display maps, speak one-on-one with staff members and discuss land use and policy development strategies.
